Spring Bucket List

Things to do during spring in Ohio

Each season I like to make a family Bucket List. This is so we are intentional about our time and enjoy the particular rhythms and events that each season brings. In spring, we’re ready to emerge from our hibernation and really seize the day. Here is our Spring Bucket List with some ideas of things to do in Ohio during spring.

Spring Bucket List - things to do in Spring

Need some ideas to fulfill this list? Here are some of our favorites:

Take a family bike ride

How about the Holmes County Rails to Trails in Millersburg or the Richland B & O Trail in Mansfield?

Decorate Easter eggs

We do things the old-fashioned with water, vinegar, and food coloring. Then you shine them up with a little bit of butter. 😉

Take a hike

I never miss out on a chance to hike, but spring is a great time to see wildflowers or find a mushroom! Check out my favorite hikes in NE Ohio, Hocking Hills hikes for kids, or hiking at Blackhand Gorge.

Pet baby animals at a farm

You can’t go wrong with the petting area at Hershberger’s Farm & Bakery in Amish Country, Ohio. Here are more things to do in Amish Country with kids.

Try a new local bakery

We love Buckeye Bakery & Share N Dippity in Mansfield, Ohio (our favorite restaurants in Mansfield); but I’m willing to try as many sweets as possible to nail down a new favorite. Ha!

Have an Easter egg hunt

Question of eternal significance – do you hide the boiled eggs or only the plastic ones?

Declutter & spring clean

I printed off this helpful guide.

Road trip to a new town

How about exploring a place like Newark, Mt. Vernon, Wapakoneta, or Wooster?

Visit a Garden

I love the Dawes Arboretum & Kingwood Center Gardens.

Find a waterfall

Check out this list of Ohio waterfalls.

What’s on your Spring Bucket List? Will you be exploring Ohio this spring or staying close to home and celebrating Easter? I’d love to hear!
