Our favorite places to eat near Mansfield
It’s hard to believe that we’ve lived in Mansfield for almost 5 years! Time has flown by! Mansfield is home to many kid-friendly attractions and is famous for being the filming location of The Shawshank Redemption, but it’s also the place to find many great restaurants. We never run out of places to eat in Richland County! Today I’m sharing a few of our favorite places to eat in Mansfield.
Best restaurants in Mansfield, Ohio
Rancho Fiesta
Rancho Fiesta is an unassuming, but extremely popular Mexican restaurant between Lexington and Mansfield. This casual dining experience in a themed restaurant is perfect for those who love Mexican but don’t want to spend a fortune. Have a pick of your favorites like tacos, enchiladas, or chimichangas, and then wash it down with a cold Corona. Rancho Fiesta is a local favorite, and deservingly so.
Outdoor patio dining is offered during warm weather.

Reindeer Grill
Reindeer Grill is located on the south side of the square in downtown Mansfield and offers affordable lunch and dinner entrees in a family-friendly environment. Ralph and Lisa Powell relocated the thriving take-out business they owned in Maryland and chose Mansfield as the place to raise their family.
I don’t think there is a bad meal on the menu, but our family favorites are the pizza, garlic knots, and the Philly Mac & Cheese (what can I say, we like carbs)! Chef Ralph makes his own pizza dough and sauce in-house- and that’s what makes it so amazing. Check out their website for the full menu.
The Reindeer Grill is located at 10 S. Park St., Mansfield.
Uncle John’s Place
Uncle John’s is a place that the locals visit for burgers and a beer. This lunch hotspot is also located near the square in downtown Mansfield. Uncle John’s is open every day but Sunday.

1285 Winery
1285 Winery is the restaurant attached to the Blueberry Patch. 1285 Winery is one of our favorite Mansfield restaurants for a date night – its beautiful new building and patio has quite the romantic vibe. The restaurant serves up wood-fired pizzas and signature entrees, along with their famous dry or sweet blueberry wine. Just want apps and drinks? We loved the baked brie (smothered in their blueberries and local maple syrup) and the pretzels with beer cheese.

Places to eat in Bellville, Ohio
Wishmaker House
Do you like wine and cheesecake? Do you wish you had the ability to dine outdoors year-round? The Wishmaker House is the place for outdoor dining even in the winter months because they offer igloo seating on their large patio. The dreamy igloos have space heaters to keep you toasty and are decorated seasonally to set the ambiance. For a perfect holiday evening, dine in one of the igloos and then set out on a tour of Christmas lights in the Mansfield area.
The patio is also a beautiful spot in the summer dining al fresco, (sans igloos), entertained by local musicians and shaded by large trees. If it’s too muggy in mid-Ohio summer, Wishmaker House has indoor seating, too!

Brumby’s Coffeehouse and Pizzeria
Brumby’s is an eclectic mix of a coffee shop and pizza joint! This Bellville restaurant in an idyllic historic building on Main Street Bellville is the place to bring friends for a casual evening.
Tip: Take time before dark to take a photo with the mural on the side of the building. 😉

Fast Eddie’s Pizza
Fast Eddie’s Pizza is one of the most popular pizza restaurants in the Mansfield area. Serving up great pizzas, appetizers, and beer; Fast Eddie’s is usually hopping with business during the dinnertime hours.
The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining, but it’s not a huge establishment and seating can be limited. On a warm day it may be nice to get a pizza to-go and eat at Charles Palm Park. See my list of the best parks in Mansfield here.

Black Dog Tavern
Black Dog Tavern is the restaurant within the clubhouse at Deer Ridge Golf Course. Being on the golf course means that the view from the deck is absolutely stunning in the summer and early fall, and it’s fun (and sometimes funny) to watch people tee off.
The indoor clubhouse has a cabin feel and a huge bar! The restaurant is open year-round and is very close to the hotel waterpark Splash Harbor.
Black Dog Tavern is located at 900 Comfort Plaza Dr, Bellville, Ohio.
Places to eat in Lexington, Ohio
Tito’s Cantina & Grill
Tito’s is an upscale Mexican eatery with a trendy bar located in Lexington. This is the place to go if you’re craving amazing guacamole or flavorful street tacos. Reservations are accepted.
Tito’s is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Check their website for their menu and online ordering.
The Cantina is located at 320 1/2 E Main St, Lexington.
The Happy Grape Bar & Bistro
The Happy Grape Bar & Bistro is a casual dining experience serving flatbreads, sandwiches, and more. Not only does The Happy Grape features great wine flights like “Shawshank Redeemed,” it is also home to Laxton Hollow Brewing Works, the only English Cask Ale Brewery in Ohio.
The Happy Grape Bar is located at 300 E. Main Street, Lexington. Check their Facebook page, as hours change seasonally.
Our favorite bakeries in Mansfield, Ohio
Buckeye Bakery
Buckeye Bakery is a local favorite for donuts, cakes, and cookies. Located in downtown Mansfield near the Carrousel and Little Buckeye Children’s Museum. Take out only.

Share ‘N Dippity
Share ‘N Dippity is a French bakery located in residential part of Mansfield. This hidden gem is the place to please your palate on scones, muffins, breads, quiches, macarons, and more. There is a small dine-in area, or carry-out to enjoy later.

Apple Hill Orchards
Apple Hill Orchards is a family-owned orchard that grows over 30 varieties of apples and other fruits. However, I’d say that most of the locals visit for the fresh-made apple donuts or apple cider. Stop in for local maple syrup, fresh veggies, and local meats, but most of all- don’t forget the donuts. You’re welcome. 😉
Apple Hill Orchards is located at 1175 Lexington-Ontario Rd. This is really close to the Ohio Bird Sanctuary (OBS is on my list of the best things to do in Mansfield with kids) and makes an easy stop for a snack.
Blueberry Patch
The Blueberry Patch is one of Ohio’s premier blueberry growers and is the place to purchase fresh blueberries in season (late July). But while I do enjoy their blueberries, the sweet goodness they create in blueberry donuts is pretty exceptional.
