The perfect Buckeye Lake Home Rental for your family
We just returned from an amazing getaway at Buckeye Lake. It’s funny, we lived just 20 minutes away from Buckeye Lake for over 7 years, but we only visited a few times. Now that we’ve been and stayed in the trendy Sky Hi rental, I know we will be back!
If you’re looking for Buckeye Lake lodging, look no further! This would be a great place to bring your family!

Sky Hi Buckeye Lake Home Rental
Sky Hi is a mid-century style home just a short drive from Buckeye Lake. Offering glimpses from the lake from 2 decks, the home offers 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and 3 living areas!

Sky Hi would be a great place to visit with extended family, enjoy a game of foosball or a backyard fire, and watch the sunset. The house is HUGE – and sleeps 12, so you can go in with a few couples or the grandparents.
The kitchen island is the centerpiece of the home that seats 7! There are plenty of kitchen utensils and dishes, as well as kids’ plastic cups & plates (Mom says thanks).

Sky Hi sits on 30 acres, and so you know, the driveway is STEEP. However, its unique position on top of the hill makes for the best sunset views and glimpses of Buckeye Lake. If you’re coming in the off-season, a 4-wheel drive may be helpful. The home is accessed through the front door and the walk isn’t handicap accessible.
The house is deceiving from the outside. It really doesn’t look that big! But step inside and you’ll find plenty of room to spread out! Two bedrooms share one full bath, and two bedrooms have their own bathrooms.

The only thing that was tricky for me with a toddler is that, because the home was built on a hillside and added on to over the years, there are a few steps throughout the home. To enter the master bedroom, you go down one step, to go into the master bathroom, you go up one step. It’s really no biggee, but if you are traveling with a rambunctious toddler, it may make your life a bit more interesting! Lol.

Things to know about Buckeye Lake and visiting the area
Buckeye Lake was constructed in the early 19th century to supply water to the Ohio and Erie Canal. And if that wasn’t crazy enough – Buckeye Lake is over 7 miles long! It’s well-known for its dock-and-dine restaurants like Papa Boo’s or Buckeye Lake Winery.

Buckeye Lake State Park is also Ohio’s oldest state park. The park entrance is only 15-minutes from the home rental. The park offers fishing, a small beach, picnic tables, and a walking path.
One of my favorite places in the area is the Dawes Arboretum. Visit the Japanese garden and stroll the grounds. Kids love the nature center.
History lover? Check out the Newark Earthworks.
We had a fantastic getaway at Buckeye Lake. We enjoyed the privacy of the home, but the opportunity to do activities that we enjoy. We hope your family gets to enjoy Buckeye Lake as much as we did!
