Hi everyone! I’m Leah – the face behind Yoder Toter Blog. Yoder Toter Blog aims to encourage 30-something moms (and dads) that life doesn’t end once the kids come along. That with intentional days & money-saving decisions, parents can explore the world with their kids – and keep their sanity.
I’m a homeschooling mom to four children, who geeks out on budgeting and books and buying used. I’m also a fan of alliteration. 😉
This is my space to tell our travel stories – from the shores of Australia to museums in my backyard of Ohio.
So how did the name Yoder Toter come about? Â After welcoming our first son, my dad started affectionately referring to him as “Yoder Toter” and it stuck! Â In my hometown, a Yoder Toter is slang for a large van used to “tote” around Amish. Â While we still have a few kids to go before we need one – and we aren’t Amish- I dream of spending a lot of time with my kids on the road.

I love the name of your blog!
Thanks Casey! 🙂

Hi Leah,
This is Saul at GPSmyCity, a publisher of travel apps on iTunes App Store and Google Play. I want to ask if you would be interested in turning some of your blog posts into mobile apps and sell them on iTunes App Store and Google Play. GPSmyCity has developed a technology for making it possible. There is no cost to you – we work with blogger on a revenue share basis.
If you wish to learn more about this opportunity, please reply to my email so I will send you additional information.
Sincerely,

I just want to ask if you would be interested in turning some of your blog posts into mobile apps and sell them on iTunes App Store and Google Play. This will open up a new revenue stream for you as a blogger. Please note that does not involve any out-of-pocket cost on your part, since we work on a revenue share basis.

Hi Leah! I have been following you via FB for a few years and enjoy following your travels! I?m looking for some ideas. My husband?s parents are celebrating 50 years at the end of August. They have requested that instead of a big party we plan a vacation (3-5 days) with just the siblings and their partners (6 couples +parents). They?d like to visit somewhere they haven?t been before which is presenting a challenge for me. They?ve done the ?normal things?- Niagara Falls, Mackinac Island, Oglebay, Gatlingburg, The Ark Encounter. We can drive or fly (if it?s not too cost prohibitive). They love Switzerland, mountains (they?re visiting the Canadian Rockies this summer), but are not beach people though they do enjoy Sarasota/pinecraft in the winter. Any help or direction you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Elaine! I have a few ideas! I will try to email you this week! 🙂 Thanks for following along.
Great list and origin story Leah!
My site name Visit50 comes from my travel goal, to inspire people to visit 50 countries by age 50. Or to just travel more. It’s less about the number, and more about just not waiting until you’re really old to start traveling.
Now that I’ve visited 50+ countries, I’ve finally written down how I travel so much
https://www.visit50.com/how-to-travel-more-often/
the full goal is visiting all 50 States, and 50 countries
